Our lives are usually so busy that we've forgotten how refreshing it can be to slow down into the easier, more peaceful parts of ourselves. Particulary during these stressful times, it's important to take time  for yourself to rest and replenish.

Mandala is pleased to offer retreats, classes and workshops to help you refresh mind, body and spirit so that you can return to your world with more balance and a greater perspective.

Worry-Free Weekends
The next date is September 25th.

Designed to help you unwind and renew, this flexible program allows you to come to the Saturday Meditation and Relaxation workshop only or to expand your time to a full weekend. Please continue reading below for details.

Mindfulness Meditation and Relaxation
Saturday, 10:30 - 1:00, with Linda L. Davis, msw

The workshop will open with mindful movement using simple exercises from both yoga and qigong. Allowing the body to lighten up and loosen up naturally invites more peace and relaxation. From this foundation, we'll practice mindfulness meditation which invites a spacious, present-moment awareness for all of our activities. We'll also explore healing uses of the breath - especially those that can calm and center us, and we'll end with a deep relaxation session using guided imagery. Weather permitting, we'll also take a mindful walk around nearby Unicoi Lake.  Be prepared to leave feeling balanced and refreshed.

Beginners (as well as those more experienced), in yoga, qigong or meditation will feel quite comfortable in this workshop designed to benefit people of all ages.

Linda has been studying and practicing mindfulness meditation and yoga since the mid-80's and teaches in a gentle, effective, enjoyable way.

Mondays 5:00-5:45 p.m

Practicing the ancient art of qiqong opens the flow of chi, or vital energy, in our bodies and is an exceptional self-healing technique practiced by millions of people worldwide. Qigong is sometimes referred to as “Chinese Yoga.” It is similar to our more familiar yoga in that it also tones the mind, body and spirit. Daily practice improves overall health and longevity and increases fortitude, strength and balance while reducing stress and promoting peace of mind.

No matter what your health or fitness goals, qigong can help you achieve them in a balanced, gentle way. People of all ages will benefit. The exercises take very little time, are low impact, fun, and easy to learn.

Cost for Qi Gong:: $10 for one class or $90 for a series of 10 classes (to be used within 3 months).

Mondays at 6:00 pm.

A light vegetarian meal will be offered in Mandala’s café’ at 6:00 pm following Qi Gong.

Peace & CalmMindfulness Meditation teaches a compassionate, present-moment awareness, inviting us to wake up to a fuller, happier life. This 2500 year-old tradition derives from Buddhist philosophy but no special beliefs are necessary for its practice.
